A medical visa to India is designed for foreign nationals who seek specialized medical treatment in recognized and reputable hospitals or treatment centers in India. Here's a comprehensive guide to obtaining a medical visa to India:

Example: If applying on 1st April, you can select arrival date from 5th April to 2nd Nov.
Eligibility Criteria
Medical Purpose
The primary criterion is that the applicant must be seeking medical treatment for a significant health issue. This can include treatments like heart surgery, organ transplants, neurosurgery, joint replacements, and more. Keep in mind that their purpose is genuine and is only to receive the best treatment.
Reputable Hospital
Treatment should be at a recognized and reputed hospital or treatment center in India.
Attendant Visa
Up to two attendants (close relatives) are allowed to accompany the patient, granted a Medical Attendant Visa (MED-X). The attendants should travel on a separate visa category but their visa application can be processed alongside the patient's medical visa.
Required Documentation
For e-Medical, e-Medical Attendant, applicants of the eligible countries/territories may apply online minimum 4-5 days in advance of the date of arrival with a window of 120 days.
Completed Visa Application Form
This can be done online via the Indian government's visa website.
Passport
Valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay, with at least two blank pages.
Photographs
Recent passport-sized photographs as specified by the application guidelines. Recent front-facing photograph with white background and photo page of Passport containing personal details like name, date of birth, nationality, expiry date, etc. are to be uploaded mandatorily by the applicant. Additionally, one more document depending upon the e-Visa type, would also be required to be uploaded. The application is liable to be rejected if the uploaded documents and photograph are not clear / as per specification.

Letter from Indian Hospital
A letter from the hospital in India where the treatment is proposed, detailing the patient's condition, treatment plan, and duration.
Proof of Financial Means
Evidence that the patient can afford the treatment and stay in India, such as bank statements or sponsorship letters.
Proof of Relationship
For attendants, proof of relationship to the patient (e.g., marriage or birth certificate).

Validity and Extension
Validity
